The Community Change Foundation (CCF) is committed to creating systemic change in Los Angeles County. To this end, they have established grant programs to provide financial assistance to non-profit and tax-sponsored organizations that offer artistic and cultural services to communities affected by COVID-19. Companies located in areas with a moderate impact of the virus are also eligible for aid, as they often provide services to low-income communities and may face unique challenges. The Alameda and Los Angeles counties have both implemented technical assistance initiatives for community schools. These initiatives are designed to help promote and market artistic programming, encouraging the public and program participants to return to virtual or in-person programs.
Los Angeles County is home to the highest concentration of minority-owned businesses in the US, and the CCF has created an inviting space for meetings that foster collaboration between sectors and communities.
What Are Community School Strategies?
Community school strategies can be an effective way of mitigating the academic and social impacts of emergencies, improving the responsiveness of schools to student and family needs, and organizing school and community resources to address learning barriers. The CCF's program will provide funding for the employment of artists and creative workers in creative works, artist-led projects, and public programs. It will also support organizations that use the arts to support communities involved with justice, as well as young people at risk of becoming involved in justice. The Main Technical Assistance Center
The Main Technical Assistance Center is run by the Alameda County Office of Education in partnership with the University of California, the Los Angeles Community Education Center, the National Education Association, and Californians for Justice. This center provides expanded learning opportunities that are closely related to school curriculum, as well as shared objectives and strategies based on the science of learning and development.Eligibility Requirements
