The Mission of Pasadena YouthBuild is to provide educational and vocational resources for youths ages 16-24 who have barriers to education and to jobs.
The vision of PYB is to provide create a highly educated and well rounded 21st century workforce for the greater San Gabriel Valley community.
We offer WASC accredited High School diploma programs, GED or HiSet certificates. Our credentialed staff works with individuals from 16 - 25 years of age. Special Education students, 504 Plans and IEP students are also welcome.

Pasadena Youth Build works with individuals to develop strong leadership skills which are necessary career advancement as well as maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships. Skills are developed in accordance with YouthBuilds 26 leadership competencies that fall within the following areas.
1. Personal Development Skills.
2. Group Leadership Skills.
3. Community Leadership Skills.
Vocational Training, job readiness, employment preparation and job retention workshops, are highly effective tools that prepare PYB enrollees and align them with their future through our Career Pathways program. Those who successfully complete the course work will have a team of employment professionals working to assist them in obtaining and maintaining employment.
PYB has developed a mentoring program that plays a critical role in helping participants move towards either educational placement or employment. With the guidance and PYB graduates create a Life Goal Plan (LGP) that includes achievable benchmarks and regular career counseling to explore continued higher education options.
Studies have shown that individuals with a higher capacity of soft skills tend to promote higher and faster than those with only stronger hard or technical skills. PYB's soft skill development program prepares individuals for success in any employment industry.
Growing up can be very difficult and young people face hardships and obstacles youth in the past would not imagine having to deal with.Â PYB trains and prepares them on the path to self-sufficiency. PYB's program begins by establishing the foundation with structure, accountability and responsibility. Other critical skills developed are financial literacy, negotiation and time management which fosters successful integration into adulthood.
